40 Year of the Llanberis Lake Railway & Last years at the Dinorwic Quarry

£15.00

A Jon Marsh film. Running time 122 mins.

The first trains ran on this railway in July 1971, but this was not the beginning of a railway here. the current trains run on the track-bed of the Padarn Railway, built in 1843, which carried slate from the Dinorwic Quarries to Port Dinorwic for forward shipment by sea and which closed in 1961. The DVD uses archive and contemporary film to tell the story from the last days of the quarry operation in the 1950’s and 1960’s to the 2011 LLR Gala weekend.

Full narration and data sheet included.
